The family roots for my "Clarkson" name have so far been traced back to the 1800's in the county of Cheshire, England. The majority of the family were farmers and have remained in Cheshire until very recent times. The first member is a Lee Clarkson who came from Heaton Norris in Stockport and was a "Slater" on his son's Marriage certificate. The main dynasty of the Clarkson's researched by myself originated from this son, John Clarkson, who was a "boot maker" until he married a farmer's daughter, Sarah Goostrey, in 1851. This couple are my great great great grandparents and they produced a total of 12 children. Their grandson Edwin Clarkson married Ethel Dale on the 30th March 1910 at Snelson Chapel. This marriage blossomed to produce 6 children, five girls and one boy. They were married for a total of 61 years with Edwin passing away aged 88 and Ethel aged 95. Today their descendants number 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and, so far, 16 great great grandchildren. I am Spencer Clarkson, one these 40 great grandchildren. I was also married to my wife Pam in Snelson Chapel in 1991 and I now have two children of my own.
